Here at Rocky Mountain Ride we know that skiing is not for everyone. Tubing, however, just might be. Tubing is fun for all ages, requires no skill, and there’s zero chance you will accidentally end up navigating moguls on a black diamond trail. It comes with the added bonus of not having to put on ski boots, which I hear are painful and not fun to walk in. Full disclosure, I’m a snowboarder. While we know that skiing(or snowboarding) isn’t everyone’s cup of tea(hot chocolate?), fun is! With the help of the Rocky Mountain Ride crew I’ve put together a quick little cheat sheet to help you find the best tubing hills in Summit County.

  • Frisco Adventure Park – Probably the most centrally located and easiest place to start. Located at 621 Recreation Way in Frisco, CO. How could you not have fun at a place located on Recreation Way? Reservations are required and they do book up quickly, so make sure you’ve made yours. The Frisco Adventure Park not only offers an awesome tubing experience but on the premises you can take a horse drawn sleigh ride, go snowshoeing or cross-country skiing, or roll around chasing friends in tumble bubbles. You’ll find a little bit of everything to do winter activity-wise here which is sure to make the whole family happy. An hour of tubing at the Frisco Adventure park cost $26-$30 per person, depending on whether or not you’re there on any of their predetermined holidays.

  • Keystone Resort/Tubing at Keystone’s Adventure Point – If you’re staying in Dillon be sure to head over to Keystone and enjoy their mountain top tubing. If you’ve never taken a ride in a gondola here’s your chance. Once you’ve exited the gondola the views are sure to leave you speechless. The only mountain top tubing in Summit county we’d be inclined to tell you the scenery is worth the ticket price even before the tubing fun has started. Keystone Resort offers a one hour session for $39 per person and half an hour sessions that begin at 3:30 and 6:30 and cost $26 per person.
  • Copper Mountain Tubing Hill – Staying at Copper Mountain or nearby Frisco, then the Copper Mountain Tubing Hill is perfect and a great place to get your fun on. Copper Mountain offers a few different options for your tubing needs. Book in advance and save a little money or take advantage of their walk up option. Non-Holiday pricing, group rates for groups larger than 20 people, and the option to add an additional hour for a lower rate are all reasons to visit Copper Mountains tubing hills. The track’s banked curves will have everyone in your group screaming with joy. Book in advance and pay $22.40 per person for an hour of tubing and fun.

  • Carter Park Sledding Hill in Breckenridge – Got your own tube or sled that you’d prefer to ride? Check out the sledding hill located at Carter Park in Breckenridge. Free fun just a few blocks off of Main Street Breckenridge is pretty hard to come by, especially with the views this park has to offer. Don’t have a sled? Don’t to worry. Both the City Market and the Breckenridge Market have got you covered. Carter Park is not only a great place to sled but an ideal picnic spot. The covered pavilion adjacent to the sledding hill is sure to be a crowd pleasure, just don’t forget to bring the hot chocolate and snacks.

Hopefully our team has given you some strong suggestions for your next Summit County adventure. So grab the Fam and jump in the van. Take our daily Ski Shuttle or book one of our custom mountain rides and choose your perfect travel times.
